Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, the buzz around the quarterbacks has focused on the five likely first-round picks, particularly the four expected to be drafted after Trevor Lawrence: Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields and Trey Lance.

Former Florida standout Kyle Trask, meanwhile, is considered part of the next tier of QB prospects in the draft along with Kellen Mond, Davis Mills, Ian Book and others. According to an NFL Network draft analyst, New England appears to be looking at potentially drafting Trask.

“There’s a little buzz in league circles that the Patriots have done a lot of homework on Kyle Trask,” Daniel Jeremiah recently said on the “Move The Sticks” podcast.

Jeremiah added more on the Trask to New England buzz.

“I think he makes a lot of sense — the size, the decision-making, the accuracy, those are traits the New England Patriots [like],” he said. “I think they had some success with a guy like that, didn’t they? It’s interesting to see what the Patriots end up doing here. They are in a position where they could vault up for a quarterback. Do you sit back and be patient and see what falls to you at 15, or do you maybe have your eyes on one of these middle-round guys, or somebody outside the first round? I just think Kyle Trask from a traditional standpoint, again Josh McDaniels I think he would dig what he brings to the table.”

As Jeremiah states, the Patriots’ first pick is set for No. 15 overall in the first round.  New England’s next pick is No. 46 overall in Round 2.
