One of the most improbable wins of the season occurred in Gainesville last weekend, where the Florida Gators took down the Tennessee Volunteers on a last-second Hail Mary.

The pass from QB Feleipe Franks to WR Tyrie Cleveland was an impressive one, traveling a long way in the air before landing perfectly in Cleveland’s hands.

Though the Florida offense has certainly struggled this season, the play earned Franks the praise of former Florida coach Steve Spurrier, who complimented the redshirt freshman on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM:

“He can throw it a long way, there’s no question,” he said. “He chucked it all the way and threw it all the way from the Swamp to [Tyrie] Cleveland.”

Franks’ growth as a quarterback will be crucial for the Gators as the season wears on. He’ll face another tough test in Lexington on Saturday night, as Florida will try to win its 31st-straight game over the Kentucky Wildcats.
