After years of not playing many road games outside of the Sunshine State, Florida continues to beef up its non-conference schedule.

The latest scheduling news from Gainesville is a big one as the Gators are now set to travel to Notre Dame as the two programs have agreed to a new home-and-home series.

The first game in the series is set to take place during the 2031 season as Florida will travel to Notre Dame on Nov. 15. The Fighting Irish plan on making the return trip the next season, playing in The Swamp on Sept. 11 of 2032.

The two football programs have only met one time on the field, which came back in the 1992 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Notre Dame won that game 39-28 in a matchup famously known as the “The Cheerios Bowl.”

Following the news of this series, Florida’s 2031 non-conference schedule is now full as the Gators are set to play at Texas, host Arizona State and Florida State in 2031.

The Gators have one remaining opening in its 2032 non-conference schedule as Florida is currently scheduled to play at Florida State and host both NC State and Notre Dame.
