Perhaps 280 characters on Twitter is a good thing — at least for reporters and people who are providing information about coaching candidates.

It allows those people covering extensive coaching searches to drop all kinds of nuggets in just one tweet instead of putting multiple tweets together in a thread.

Florida insider Darren Heitner proved this on Wednesday when he dropped a ton of information in regards to the Gators’ head coaching vacancy. He said:

  • Florida AD Scott Stricklin wants to move quick
  • Former Oregon coach Chip Kelly won’t last long on the market.
  • Stricklin is “good” with Chip.
  • Chip is “good” with UF.
  • Steve Spurrier wants UCF head coach Scott Frost.
  • Frost is not looking at opportunities until December.

Oh my. Florida fans will certainly appreciate all this info. By the way, what does “good” mean in this situation? Also, is there a power struggle happening?
