The saga of Kamar Wilcoxson’s recruitment appears to be nearing a conclusion. The 4-star defensive back shared Thursday that he has graduated from high school and will be enrolled at UF next week.

Wilcoxson committed to Florida multiple times as a class of 2021 prospect. Earlier this month, he revealed he planned to enroll at UF for the fall semester and reclassify to the class of 2020. As a 2021 prospect, he is currently rated 4-stars, the No. 16 safety, No. 40 recruit in Florida and No. 273 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite.

Wilcoxson may face an uphill battle to see the field in 2020 having missed summer workouts and the first few practices of fall camp, but there is plenty of uncertainty surrounding depth chart situations in a pandemic. At the very least, Wilcoxson will have a significant leg up on his former 2021 classmates.

Wilcoxson originally committed to UF on Nov. 3, 2018. He then backed off that pledge on April 27, 2019. Just a few months later, July 27, 2019, Wilcoxson decided to re-commit to the Gators. The second commitment lasted until March 26, 2020. Roughly a month later, April 27, 2020, Wilcoxson committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Wilcoxson wrote, “I’m blessed to be committed to the University of Florida for good. My recruitment is officially over,” in a lengthy note posted with his June announcement.
