Florida had 12 players catch a pass in the 13-6 win over Mississippi State. Gators QB Feleipe Franks may have another option in Week 6 against LSU.

True freshman WR Jacob Copeland has missed the first five games of the season after he tore his meniscus in the first week of fall camp in August.

UF coaches and the communications staff are not particularly forthcoming regarding injury updates. As a freshman, Copeland is also not made available to the local media.

But when Copeland went home this weekend to see an Escambia High School game (his high school alma mater), Brian Achatz of the Pensacola News Journal was able to get the latest from receiver himself.

“They will most likely have me clear to go on Monday … that’s the plan,” Copeland told Achatz. “Then it’s go time and I’m going 150 percent.”

Copeland also noted that he has been going full strength in the weight room for a few weeks.

While he sounds eager to return, Dan Mullen and his staff may be slow to work him into the rotation at wide receiver considering how far behind he is relative to the other receivers.

But Copeland isn’t just any other receiver. As a recruit in the class of 2018, Copeland was rated the No. 12 wide receiver, No. 14 state of Florida product and No. 69 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. With that kind of talent, Mullen and company may find a way to get him involved sooner than later.
