Since leaving the Florida program, former Gator defender Dante Fowler Jr. just can’t seem to get a break. It appears his streak of misfortune has continued, as the former Gator has reportedly been arrested in St. Petersburg.

After suffering a season-ending injury prior to his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fowler had to wait a full season to make his NFL debut last year. Now set to enter his third NFL season, Fowler is making headlines for the wrong reasons.

According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Fowler was arrested in St. Petersburg Tuesday night on misdemeanor charges of simple battery and mischief.

In his three seasons of collegiate play in Gainesville, Fowler racked up 140 tackles, 33 tackles-for-loss and 14.5 sacks. Following his college career, Fowler was selected by the Jaguars with the third overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Fowler is scheduled to report for duty in Jacksonville next week.

Auman has tweeted out further details of Fowler’s arrest:
