Report: Jets sign former Florida DB Brian Poole to 1-year contract
Former Florida DB Brian Poole signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets Thursday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Poole, the former Falcons’ defender, has racked up 196 tackles, five sacks and four INTs in three-career NFL seasons. The former Gators standout was signed by the Falcons out of college as an undrafted free-agent deal. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract, and Poole originally signed with Atlanta over other teams due to his relationship with former Gators assistant Dan Quinn.
He’s played in 47 career NFL games.
Pool reunites with former Gators teammate Marcus Maye in New York.
Cornerback Brian Poole agreed to a 1-year deal with the Jets for $3.5 million, per source. Poole was not tendered by the Falcons – rare for a player not tender to actually get more than the tender.
