Coming out of Florida, EDGE Jachai Polite was considered by many to be a first-round talent. Indeed, he was projected to go in Round 1 of the 2019 NFL Draft in many early mocks.

However, the pre-draft process was a disaster for the former Gator, as he tanked at the Combine and didn’t perform well at any stop along the way.

He fell into Round 3, where the New York Jets took a shot on him for his potential. But, it appears they’ve seen enough, as it was reported that the Jets were cutting Polite on Saturday:

That’s a precipitous fall for Polite, who looked dominant at Florida. There’s still a chance he could sign with another team before the season, but this isn’t a good look.

We’ll see what happens next for Polite, who left Florida with a year of eligibility remaining.
