Star Florida Gators wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has an important choice to make this offseason.

Pearsall has been a major upside to an otherwise disappointing first season for head coach Billy Napier. The Gators finished the year 6-7 with a lopsided 30-3 loss to Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl Saturday evening.

Pearsall was asked about his future plans following Florida’s rough loss.

“There’s a lot of aspects that go into it,” Pearsall said. “But, you know, I’m still thinking about it, being patient with it. But I love being here, and I think that’s a really important aspect for my decision. I love Coach and all my teammates, so I’m proud of these guys.”

It is worth noting that earlier in the press conference, Pearsall said that Gator Nation should be excited about the future trajectory of the program despite the rough season.

“I think we can look back at it and see what we’ve been doing all year long,” Pearsall said. “Fighting to the end is something this team has been doing. You can’t really teach effort and I think that’s something really important that we can build off of going into next year. We got a lot of young guys that are hungry and excited to play so I think Gator Nation should be excited about the future here.”

Pearsall caught 33 passes for 661 yards and 5 touchdowns in his first season as a Gator since transferring from Arizona State last offseason. It’s been his most productive season in the college ranks yet this year.

Pearsall caught 4 passes for 65 yards in Florida’s loss Saturday.
