Seahawks release former Florida DE Jachai Polite
Just months after becoming a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, former Florida edge rusher Jachai Polite is searching for a new home … again.
The Seattle Seahawks released Polite from their practice squad Monday.
The Seahawks have released Jachai Polite from their practice squad. From a third round pick of the Jets in April to cut, unclaimed on waivers and then cut again from a practice squad.

The New York Jets selected Polite 68th overall in the third round. Early in the draft process, there was talk that Polite could be a first-round selection, but he fell on the big board after a disappointing combine performance. He also didn’t perform well during his interviews at the combine.
The Jets elected to take a chance on the “talented” defensive end, but he wasn’t able to earn a spot out of the preseason. The Seahawks picked him up for their practice squad, but they’ve apparently had enough of him too less than a month later.
Now, before it even began, Polite’s NFL career may be finished.
