The Head Ball Coach has made his pick in the East, he’s rolling with his Gators.

During a Tuesday appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show, Steve Spurrier acknowledged that Georgia will likely enter the season as the favorite to win the division in 2017 but that didn’t stop him from picking his alma mater to win the division once again.

“Georgia will be the trendy pick,” Spurrier, currently serving as an ambassador and consultant to Florida’s athletic department, said on the show. “I like the Gators to get back to Atlanta.”

In order for the Gators to accomplish that feat, the Oct. 28 showdown in Jacksonville against Georgia looms large. If Florida can take care of Tennessee in the Swamp come Sept. 16 in addition to beating the Bulldogs in late October — a victory would represent the fourth consecutive win in the annual series, a third consecutive trip to Atlanta will most assuredly be on the horizon for Jim McElwain’s team.
