Tim Tebow’s baseball career isn’t over yet.

The former Florida quarterback and current SEC Network analyst was included on the New York Mets’ non-roster invitees for Spring Training, announced Saturday morning.

Tebow picked up baseball again in 2016 when he played in the Arizona Fall League, having not played since high school. He joined the Mets organization in 2017.

The coronavirus pandemic wiped out the 2020 minor league season. From 2017-19, Tebow played at the levels of A, A+, AA and AAA. As a minor-leaguer, he has a career batting average of .223 with an OPS of .638 (.299 on-base percentage, .338 slugging percentage). Tebow has 210 career hits including 18 home runs as a minor-leaguer.

In 2019, Tebow played 31 AAA games, posting an OPS of just .495, recording 39 hits (including 4 HR) in 239 at-bats. Per the Associated Press, Tebow has hit .151 in 34 games of spring training action over the past four years.
