Think what you want to think about former Florida QB Tim Tebow and his NFL aspirations, but one thing is certain — he’s not lacking in self-confidence.

While doing a media tour to promote his new book — Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms — Tebow admitted on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show that he thought he’d be Tom Brady’s heir when he signed a two-year deal with the New England Patriots in 2013:

“When I got to New England, it felt like, ‘this is where I’m supposed to be.’ I get to play behind one of the best of all time, Tom Brady, and then when he retires, it’ll be awesome, playing for Belichick, winning Super Bowls, and then it didn’t go the way I wanted it to.”

Obviously, Brady is still with the Patriots, so Tebow’s plan didn’t take shape. Now, the former Gator star is trying his hand at baseball while Brady continues to lead one of the NFL’s best teams.

If Tebow’s book is even half as interesting as his media tour already has been, readers are in for a treat.
