When Randy Shannon was Florida’s interim head coach, he received a commitment from Miami, Florida, WR Nigel Bethel.

However, Monday, Bethel released the news via his Twitter account that “Florida had moved on” from his recruitment, and that he’s opening things back up.

This certainly isn’t unexpected. With the changes in the coaching staff — and Randy Shannon no longer a part of it, some commits are going to get told some unfortunate news, because the staff is targeting their own prospects.

Bethel is rated as a 3-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 134 WR and the state of Florida’s No. 225 overall player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Following Bethel’s decommitment, the Gators have 13 prospects currently committed.
