2014 Eastern Michigan vs Florida

With their first game cancelled due to weather, the Florida Gators were forced to wait another week to start their season when Eastern Michigan traveled to Gainesville.

The Gators didn’t disappoint the home crowd as the Orange and Blue took over the game from the very beginning. Quarterback Jeff Driskel looked sharp in his first game back after suffering a season-ending leg injury last season. The redshirt junior threw 248 yards and a touchdown. He also was able to get several players involved in the passing game as 10 different receivers recorded a reception in the game.

Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson emerged a big playmaker for the UF offense, catching six passes for 123 yards and one touchdown. The true sophomore has struggled to make an impact during his time at Florida, mostly due to off-the-field issues. It seems that Robinson has put those issues past him and will be a viable receiving threat in Roper’s offense.

The Florida running backs also had a special performance as Matt Jones, Kelvin Taylor and Brandon Powell all scored touchdowns. Mack Brown added in another 58 yards on six carries.

In the end, Florida defeated the Eagles 65-0 and will take on Kentucky to open up their SEC schedule next week.
