2014 San Jose State vs Auburn

San Jose State made their inaugural trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium in an early non-conference matchup.

The Spartans were two years removed from an 11-win season and considered a contender in the Mountain West Conference. It was a long night for Ron Caragher’s team, who made the cross-country trip to the Plains, facing an SEC team for just the second time.

Auburn had no trouble, winning 59-13. Gus Malzahn’s offense again racked up more than 300 yards on the ground and the defense forced three turnovers. Nick Marshall and Cameron Artis-Payne both exceeded the 100-yard mark rushing and Artis-Payne recorded three touchdowns.
