When opposing fans travel to an SEC campus for a game, they can expect to be treated as hostilely as humanly possible. Taking that into consideration, the “Wear Pink For Wendy” campaign being organized by Georgia fans is all the more amazing.

If you don’t know the backstory leading up to this game, Wendy Anderson, the wife of Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson, passed away Aug. 20 following a long battle with cancer. Blake took a leave of absence from his team following the death of his wife but he returned in time for Arkansas State’s Week 2 43-17 win over UNLV.

Now with Arkansas State scheduled to meet the Bulldogs in Athens on Saturday, instead of hate, many Georgia fans are planning to show their love and support for Anderson and his Arkansas State program by wearing pink in honor or Wendy.
