Broderick Jones has ended all the drama, he’s finally headed to Athens.

The longtime Georgia pledge did not sign with the Bulldogs despite being committed to join Kirby Smart’s program during the Early Signing Period, which opened the door for other teams to recruit the Lithonia, Ga., native. The departure of offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas may have played a part in that decision, but in the end, Jones kept to his word and announced that he will sign with Georgia on National Signing Day.

This news comes after Jones took official visits to Arkansas, Illinois and Georgia following the Early Signing Period. The five-star lineman was scheduled to official visit Auburn last weekend but did not make that trip. Considering Auburn was viewed as Georgia’s main competition for Jones, news of his decision to stick with the Bulldogs was no surprise.

The 6-foot-5, 298-pound Jones played in the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game and is rated as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 11 overall prospect in the nation by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

If you are keeping score at home, Georgia currently has the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class and holding on to Jones keeps the Bulldogs in the running to finish with the nation’s top-ranked class.
