Buck Belue has laid out his keys to the national championship for Georgia to beat Alabama.

Belue, a sports radio co-host on 680 The Fan in Atlanta, and a legendary quarterback at Georgia, focused on the quarterbacks in the game, Alabama’s Bryce Young and Georgia’s Stetson Bennett. Belue played at UGA from 1978-81 and was the quarterback on the 1980 national championship team, and was also a captain of the 1981 SEC Championship team at Georgia, and was twice selected as first-team All-SEC QB.

“Hit, pressure, sack Bryce Young,” Belue said. “No. 2, gotta run the football successfully, and get George Pickens the ball. Pickens can give you explosive plays. No. 3 you gotta win the turnover battle if you want to take down the Tide.”

Belue also offered advice for Bennett, and noted the Georgia QB’s 5 interceptions in 2 games against Alabama.

“Stetson, don’t force the ball into tight places,” he said. “Pull that thing down and run with it, man. You can hurt Alabama with your legs scrambling.”
