Much to the joy of many Bulldog fans, there will be a new coordinator calling the shots on offense next fall in Athens. Of course, that man is James Coley, who was promoted from his co-offensive coordinator duties after Jim Chaney left Georgia this offseason to take over the offensive coordinator position at Tennessee.

Now the big question in Athens surrounds the type of offense Coley plans to run next season. While we won’t really have an answer to that question until we see his unit in action come Aug. 31 when Georgia opens the 2019 season at Vanderbilt, two Bulldog players offered up their opinions of the new offense.

“I feel like there will be a different feel, a little bit more energetic feel to the offense this year. Might have the ball in the air a little bit more. Just a little bit more balanced offense this year, I feel,” Receiver Tyler Simmons says in the video below. “(Coach) Coley brings a lot of energy to the offense so we’re all really excited.”

As for the player charged with running the offense on the field, quarterback Jake Fromm believes the offense won’t be changing much in Athens next fall.

“Is the playbook going to be different? No. It’s just probably going to be more added on to it,” Fromm offered up. “So super excited. What we’ve got going in, can’t wait to see what happens in the spring and, man, just really see what’s going to happen.”
