Cade Mays’ transfer from Georgia to Tennessee was one of the biggest stories of the college football offseason heading into 2020. After 2 seasons at UGA, Mays transferred to Tennessee to play alongside his younger brother, Cooper Mays.

Cade Mays has now completed his college football career and is preparing to play professionally. The older Mays took part in the Senior Bowl, which was held Saturday.

In Mobile, Alabama, Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation caught up with Mays. He asked the former Bulldog about seeing his old teammates beat Michigan and Alabama in the College Football Playoff to win the 2021 national championship. Mays said he’s still close to his former teammates and was excited for them.

“Absolutely, in the College Football Playoff,” Mays said when asked if rooted for Georgia during the Bulldogs’ national championship season. “Those are still some of my best friends. I talk to them all the time. It was so good to get to see the guys here (at the Senior Bowl). Those are my boys. I was rooting for them. I was ecstatic when they won, when they pulled it out. It’s been a long time coming for them.

More from Mays on his transfer experience can be found in Griffith’s interview posted to YouTube.
