Chris Peal, a 4-star cornerback out of Charlotte, North Carolina (Providence Day School) has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Peal, who has a reported 20 offers, committed to play at Georgia over South Carolina, Michigan and N.C. State. Peal is listed at 6-foot and 175 pounds, and is rated the No. 21 cornerback in the country in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina.

He was recruited by Fran Brown and Will Muschamp.

“I have a great relationship with the Georgia coaches,” Peal told On3. “Me and coach Brown talk almost every night, so we have a great relationship. I like coach Muschamp a lot too. Coach Smart has been on me hard also. Georgia has really recruited me hard and shown me I am important to them.”

His relationship with the Georgia coaches goes back a while.

“I knew coach Brown when he was at Rutgers, then he went to Georgia,” Peal said. “Georgia quickly offered me and it started with Georgia right after that. I already knew coach Brown, then I got to know coach Muschamp and coach Smart. They made me very comfortable. I could talk with them at any time.”
