Details have been released regarding the arrest of Georgia DB Latavious Brini.

It was originally reported Tuesday that Brini had been arrested on charges of forgery. The arrest  marks the third player from Georgia that has been arrested since the SEC Championship Game.

Jason Butt with The Telegraph shared the details of the arrest on Wednesday, and it is indicated that Brini and another man used a fake $100 bill to buy merchandise and receive change for a transaction in July.

The two were then identified after returning to the same store eight days later for another purchase:

Eight days later on July 22, Brini and Shorter entered Pet Supplies Inc. and used Brini’s debit card for a purchase. The cashier notified the manager that the suspect who used the fake bill was in the store and linked Brini’s debit card purchase to a separate rewards system account, which contained his UGA campus dorm room address.

Brini has been redshirted for the Bulldogs this season, but this is now another distraction that Kirby Smart and his staff must deal with while preparing for the College Football Playoff.

It will also be interesting to see the results of the investigation and what punishment Smart hands down to the young player.
