Erik Ainge took a shot at Georgia once this season, and now the former quarterback and current talk show host has unloaded on QB Stetson Bennett.

During a segment in which Ainge praised Kirby Smart for his coaching ability, how he handles interviews, timeouts and his coaching staff, he switched gears and explained how he feels about Bennett.

“You know who I can’t stand though? Stetson Bennett. It was cute when he first got to play and played pretty good. And now the whole like, ‘I’m a walk-on, I’m a JUCO transfer…’ he’s like 28-3 as a starter at Georgia or something like that,” Ainge said on The Erik Ainge Show. It comes at about the 25:00 mark. “… I’m cheering hard against him. I want Georgia not to just lose the game – I don’t want them to lose with Stetson Bennett throwing 4 touchdowns. I want Stetson Bennett to throw 4 picks and cost his team a championship. … He’s such a punk, I can’t stand.”

Ainge then projected that Bennett may be drafted in the NFL in the sixth or seventh round, because “he’s got a good enough arm, he’s fast enough, he’s just small.”

Before Georgia beat Tennessee in Athens earlier this season, Ainge took a shot at Georgia and Sanford Stadium.

“Playing between the hedges is overrated. Not that loud and definitely not intimidating. It’s nothing like playing in Neyland. Vols will be just fine in Athens!”

After Georgia won 27-13, Ainge admitted that he was wrong.
