Former Georgia and current New England WR Malcom Mitchell signed a three-book deal with Scholastic Books, according to CBS Boston.

The ex-Bulldog has a passion for reading and a passion for getting others involved in reading. He’s the founder of “Read With Malcolm.”

The beautiful thing about this is that the Super Bowl Champion is using his platform to better children’s lives.

We’re sure there were a few snickers when Mitchell joined an all-female book club in 2014, but he’s taken that passion to a whole new level.

“Growing up as a kid, I didn’t read at all because I was always outside playing sports,” Mitchell said in 2014. “I developed a love for reading over time and found it was very important to read. Those simple skills that reading gives you is very important in everyday life.”

Prior to landing this book deal, Mitchell self-published his book, The Magician’s Hat, while in Athens. Scholastic Books will put out a re-illustrated version his first book, along with two others, according to 247Sports.

He caught 32 passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns in 2016, and he’s expected to play a bigger role in 2017. Six of those 32 receptions came in the Patriots’ Super Bowl win against the Falcons. Mitchell recorded 174 receptions for 2,350 yards and 16 touchdowns during his four-year career at Georgia.
