Gary Danielson looked ahead to a possible matchup for Georgia in the College Football Playoff.

Given the performance of LSU’s passing game in the second half, the CBS Sports analyst during the second half of the SEC Championship suggested that the Tigers could offer a blueprint for Ohio State if the Buckeyes move into the No. 4 ranking for the CFP.

Garrett Nussmeier sparked the LSU offense after halftime when Jayden Daniels left with a leg injury. Nussmeier started 5-for-8 passing for 129 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown pass was for 34 yards to Malik Nabers and was his third pass of the game.

Danielson said on the broadcast that teams seemingly on the outside looking in of the Playoff are watching this game. But that Ohio State and Alabama both want a shot at Georgia.

“They’re going, ‘We can throw the ball pretty good,'” Danielson said. “‘We would play these guys if we get a chance to play them. Remember the last game that Georgia lost, Bryce Young went 26-for-44 for 421 (yards) in this championship game. So watching LSU throw the ball around, Ohio State’s going, ‘Just get us in there, we’ll take our chances.'”

Ohio State is widely expected to make the No. 4 spot after Southern Cal’s Friday night loss to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Danielson said he figures Ohio State is in, but then said, “What happens to TCU and Alabama.”
