Though Mike Bobo was last at Georgia in 2014, a pair of Bulldogs boosters haven’t forgotten his contributions to the school as both a player and coach.

That’s why, according to a report from The Coloradoan, they drove across the country to present Bobo with a carved wooden cane to help the Colorado State coach as he recovers from numbness in his feet.

“I said ‘what are ya’ll doing? Are you making a trip?’” Bobo said. “They said, ‘nah, wanted to come see you.’ That means a lot.”

Bobo, a Bulldogs quarterback from 1993-97 who spent the majority of his coaching career with the school, checked into a hospital with the condition about a week and a half before the season began. He’s still experiencing some difficulty walking, but he has coached the Rams’ last two games on the sidelined after working from the booth during the team’s opener.

Bobo has had plenty of contact with the SEC lately — his team upset Arkansas last Saturday and travels to face Florida this Saturday.

But his meeting with those well-wishing Georgia boosters is certainly the best of the bunch.
