For Georgia fans, Week 6 is not one of the season’s more exciting Saturdays. After knocking off rival Tennessee in Week 5, Kirby Smart’s squad shifts its focus to Vanderbilt.

VU has been up-and-down in 2018. Derek Mason’s squad started 2-0, but lost in back-to-back weeks against Notre Dame (17-22) and South Carolina (14-37). Vanderbilt managed to get back above .500 in Week 5, but a 31-27 win over FCS Tennessee State does little to scare future foes like UGA.

The Commodores may be struggling, but that doesn’t mean they will be overlooked by the Bulldogs. Georgia RB Elijah Holyfield told reporters Monday that Vanderbilt’s upset win at UGA in 2016 is still on his mind.

“I was a freshman when they came in here and beat us,” Holyfield said. “We have not forgotten that…”

Vanderbilt won 17-16 in Sanford Stadium in 2016, ruining Georgia’s homecoming weekend. The Bulldogs got revenge in Nashville with a 45-14 win last season, but it’s clear that players still want to settle the score between the hedges.

Georgia and Vanderbilt are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The game is set to air on the SEC Network.
