Georgia set to break record for first-round picks? NFL analysts share impressive reviews
Coming off the national championship fueled by the suffocating defense, Georgia already had a great chance to make a splash in the upcoming NFL Draft. Then a host of Bulldogs dazzled last week in Indianapolis, and turned heads of NFL scouts and analysts.
Georgia led college football with 14 combine invites, and by all indications between field performances and interviews with NFL front offices, the Bulldogs only impressed. The record for most first-round picks in a single draft is 6, which was tied by the 2020 Alabama team that won a national championship after 2004 Miami was the first to land 6 players in the first round.
The Georgia players most likely to land in the first round include Travon Walker, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean and Devonte Wyatt.
Here’s a sampling of the media reaction to the performances last week by Georgia players at the NFL Combine:
Heard from multiple teams that Georgia’s Lewis Cine blew them away in interviews. Is he first safety off the board now after running 4.37 and jumping 11-1? There were some teams that had first round grades on him before doing all that.

Was really fun hearing TE Isaiah Likely talk about Lewis Cine this week (former HS teammates). Cine is one of the few single-high FS in this class. Runs the alley with bad intentions in run support, physical, and has range on the back end in coverage.

It’s a great week to be a #Dawg. I’m proud of these young men, the work they have put in, and the way they have presented themselves at the #NFLCombine !! #GoDawgs
