The SEC prides itself in being the best conference in college football, but Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson won’t play along.

After the Yellow Jackets beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl this past season, Johnson quipped: “For a week or so we won’t have to hear about the SEC.”

Johnson’s at it again, this time to the Jackets’ rival Georgia Bulldogs.

Monday at the ACC coaches’ Car Wash on ESPN, Johnson told ESPN’s Joe Schad that Georgia isn’t any different than Clemson, Florida State or other ACC powers.

Georgia Tech beat Georgia 30-24 last season in overtime, in one of the wilder finishes in the country.

Johnson is 2-5 against Georgia since he was hired at Tech in 2008.
