Through four games, Georgia’s receivers have accounted for a whopping 17 drops.

For a unit that’s job is to catch the ball, that’s not a good statistic. According to Macon.com, the Georgia wide outs are working hard to correct their problems moving forward.

Sophomore WR Michael Chigbu, who has dropped three passes this year, said the Bulldogs are spending more time in practice going back to the basics:

“We’re focusing on catching the ball a lot,” Chigbu said. “These dropped balls are unacceptable for the whole receiving corps. We can’t be doing that if we want to win. … So we’ve been doing a lot of ball drills. A lot of ball drills. Hand-eye coordination drills. Competing against each other.”

The Bulldogs get a bit of a break this weekend when they host a Tennessee team that will be without star DB Cam Sutton.

Playing the Vols still won’t be easy, but there should be a little more room in the secondary for the receivers to operate.
