Georgia already has 4-star quarterback John Rhys Plumlee committed in the 2019 class, but the Bulldogs may be interested in adding another signal caller to the class.

That’s good news for 2-star quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who included Georgia on his top three list Friday. In addition to Georgia, the other two schools Gabriel listed in his top three were USC and UCF.

Georgia is one of three teams that has reportedly made an offer to Gabriel. 247Sports ranks him as a 2-star prospect and the 105th-best pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class. He was previously committed to Army, but the Knights are apparently out of the running.

If Gabriel commits to Georgia, he will fill a crowded depth chart behind center. Jake Fromm had a fantastic final month of the season and will be back next year. More than likely, so will freshman Justin Fields, who was a 5-star recruit in the 2018 class.

Immediate playing time will not happen for Gabriel at Georgia, but that wasn’t an issue for Fields when he made his decision last year. Maybe it won’t be for Gabriel either.
