Everything is going right for the Georgia Bulldogs this year, as they’ve gotten off to an impressive 7-0 start even while starting true freshman Jake Fromm at quarterback.

Fromm had a huge game against Mizzou on Saturday night, throwing for 326 yards and two touchdowns in Georgia’s 53-28 win.

After the game, his teammates raved about his leadership skills. Junior LB Roquan Smith said Fromm has been impressive since day one (via 247Sports):

“Way before the guy was even a starter I knew he was a natural-born leader,” Smith said. “First days he got up here he was calling everything, watching film just like a veteran. He was in the spring time and everything like that.”

Sophomore WR Mecole Hardman, who scored two touchdowns on Saturday night, said Fromm is living up to every expectation so far:

“Jake’s great. He’s a great leader,” Hardman said. ‘We look up to him. We expect him to make plays like he’s been making. We expect him to lead the team.”

The Bulldogs have a well-deserved bye next weekend before an Oct. 28 showdown against Florida in Jacksonville.

Fromm will need to continue his excellent play if the Bulldogs are going to take a huge step toward an SEC East title in that game.
