When Jake Fromm was playing quarterback for his high school team last year, he never would have thought he’d be starting for the Georgia Bulldogs in the National Championship Game this year.

However, that’s exactly what has happened for the true freshman, who is living his dreams and will play for a title in Atlanta on Monday night.

During Saturday’s National Championship Game media day, Fromm said he’s been dreaming about this moment since he was a little kid and that it would mean a lot to him to bring a title to his home state (via 247Sports):

“Since you’re a little kid, you always dream about winning championships,” Fromm said. “And to win a championship at this level for the state of Georgia, University of Georgia, it’s something, as a Georgia boy growing up, it’s something you always dream about.

“It’s an awesome experience for me, but I think it’s even a greater experience for the University of Georgia and the State of Georgia. And I’m just so thankful for this opportunity, and I hope we get it done on Monday.”

Of course, playing for a title and winning a title are two very different things, and Fromm has his work cut out for him if the Bulldogs are going to win.

Monday night’s championship game kicks off at 8 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ESPN.
