Justyn Rhett has had an eventful recruitment already, and the 4-star cornerback out of Las Vegas (Bishop Gorman) has now made a commitment to play in the SEC.

Rhett decommitted from Notre Dame about a week ago, after he visited Georgia for its spring game. After the Fighting Irish and Bulldogs, Rhett is also considering Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma among a reported 19 offers. Rhett is listed at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds and rated the No. 12 cornerback in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite.

With Rhett in the Georgia class, it bumps Georgia to No. 3 in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

“Honestly I think what it came down to, the recruiting process never stopped and I think the relationship he built over there with the staff, the coaches, Francis Brown the new DB coach over there has done an amazing job with Justyn,” Rhett’s father Troy said, per 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong. “Our ability to go down there and see the SEC and see the campus and meet with Coach (Kirby) Smart and Coach (Will) Muschamp it all played a key role with that and Justyn and his comfort in that environment.”

“The fanbase there, we have family in Georgia,” his father said. “We do have that going on, and with Coach Brown, Coach Francis Brown I think him and Justyn really bonded. When we took our visit, the attention to detail everything Justyn was looking for to get out of football and that mentorship and seeing that vision of being the best version of himself.
