Georgia begins spring practices on March 15. Before the Dawgs start preparing for their national title defense, though, it appears coach Kirby Smart will have a key role to fill on his staff.

Per Anthony Dasher of UGASports.com, OL coach Matt Luke, also the team’s associate head coach, is expected to step down.

Dasher reports that Georgia is expected to announce the decision soon:

Matt Luke is expected to step down as Georgia’s offensive line/associate head coach, multiple sources have confirmed to UGAsports.

An official announcement is expected soon.

Matt Luke spent the 2017 through 2019 seasons as the Ole Miss head coach, compiling an overall record of 15-21.

He has been with Georgia since 2020, when former Georgia OL coach Sam Pittman left to take over the head coaching gig at Arkansas.

Where Luke ends up next remains to be seen, but it seems his time in Athens is coming to an end.
