It was an early kickoff on Saturday afternoon in Athens, where No. 2 Georgia and No. 8 Arkansas faced off. Despite being a top-10 matchup, the SEC clash began at noon ET.

That didn’t prevent the Bulldogs from having a distinct home-field advantage, though. They rolled to a 37-0 win over the Razorbacks, and after the game, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart praised the fans for their positive impact during his interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe.

“Patience, remember we talked about patience? Patience gives you the ability to recover from anything,” Smart said. “This is a good football team we beat. They’ve got a really good football team. [Arkansas coach Sam Pittman’s] done a tremendous job, but so do we. I’m so proud of the University of Georgia, and our fans today? They were elite. Because it was 12 o’clock and they affected the game. That’s special.”

Georgia is dominating its opponents this season. During the 5-0 start, the Bulldogs have allowed only 23 total points, as they’ve notched back-to-back shutouts against Vanderbilt and Arkansas. They’re the No. 2 team in the country and are showing no signs of slowing down.

“Confidence. It comes through work habits,” Smart said. “Humility is always a week away. We know that. The kids played really hard today and I’m proud of them. …

“Defensive staff does a great job. These kids take so much pride in their performance and the offense helped them do that with the running game shortening the game a little bit.”

After the latest impressive showing, Georgia will look to keep it going next Saturday, when it goes on the road to face Auburn. The Tigers are currently ranked No. 22 heading into their Week 5 matchup at LSU.
