Georgia experienced injury scares to a few key players during its SEC East-clinching win against Kentucky last Saturday, but none of them appears to be too serious.

During his Monday press conference, Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart had mostly good news for three players who were injured against the Wildcats. Receiver/returner Mecole Hardman, center Lamont Gaillard and right guard Cade Mays will all practice in at least a limited capacity this week as No. 5 Georgia gears up for its annual rivalry game against Auburn.

The best outlook is for Hardman, who Smart said will practice fully Monday after tweaking his ankle on a kickoff return against Kentucky. Mays, a true freshman, will be limited to non-contact drills Monday, though his status is still a little murky.

“He had a stinger,” Smart said. “…We don’t know how much further it’ll go, but we expect to get him back. He’s a tough kid, and we know he’ll push through it.

Smart also seemed optimistic that Gaillard will be able to play against the Tigers on Saturday. The senior center will also start the week limited in practice after hyperextending his knee against the Wildcats.

On top of the quick recovery of recently injured players, the Bulldogs might return another starter who has been out for more than month. Redshirt sophomore offensive guard Ben Cleveland has been sidelined since injuring his leg against Missouri on Sept. 22, but Smart said he could have played last week and is progressing well.

Overall, it sounds like all four players will have a good shot to play when Georgia (8-1, 6-1 SEC) hosts Auburn (6-3, 3-3) at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
