Update (2:35 p.m.): The betting odds for Nebraska’s next head coach are back up and UGA head coach Mark Richt is no longer on the list. The prop bet was taken down earlier this morning.

Following Georgia’s devastating overtime loss to Georgia Tech, UGA fans expressed their displeasure with head coach Mark Richt and even called for him to be fired in some cases.

Well, according to Las Vegas those fans may just get their wish.

On Sunday night, Vegas released their favorites as to who will replace Bo Pelini at Nebraska and Richt was among the top choices.

The Nebraska job recently came available when the Cornhuskers fired Pelini on Sunday afternoon. He had been the head coach at Nebraska since 2008 and accumulated a career record of 67-27.

While I wouldn’t expect Richt to jump ship from Georgia to Nebraska, considering all of the success he’s had with the Bulldogs, the growing frustrations with Richt seemingly achieving less with more every season can’t help his job security. Richt has been with UGA for 14 seasons and is tied with Gary Pinkel of Missouri for longest-tenured coach in the SEC.

On Monday afternoon, it appears that the prop bet from Vegas on who will become the next Nebraska head coach has been taken down.
