After several days of speculation, Monty Rice has made it official – he’s off to the NFL.

The senior linebacker announced he will be skipping out on Georgia’s upcoming Peach Bowl appearance against Cincinnati and has left the UGA program in anticipation of the 2021 NFL Draft on Tuesday

“After talking things over with my family and coaches, I am deciding to forego the upcoming bowl game to begin preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft,” Rice posted.

The Alabama native was a finalist for the Butkus Award this season, which recognizes the nation’s best linebacker. Rice ends the season with 49 tackles, good for third-highest on Georgia’s loaded defense.
