Bruce Arians stepped out of retirement this offseason to take over as the head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after spending the 2018 season as a television analyst.

Now, as he prepares for his first season with the Bucs, he’s also keeping an eye on Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

In an interview this week, Arians complimented the work Smart has done in Athens and added that he thinks it’s only a matter of time until Smart wins a title (via DawgNation):

“Kirby has done an unbelievable job, his passion and his energy are obvious, (and) he’s done a great job in recruiting,” Arians told DawgNation at the Arians Family Foundation golf tourney at the Lake Oconee Ritz-Carlton.

“The next step is he’s just got to win the big one, and I can see that in the future soon.”

Smart will have a good team in Athens this year, with many expecting the Dawgs to make it to the SEC Championship Game once again.

Will this be the year he claims a national championship? We’ll find out soon, and it seems as if Arians will be keeping an eye on the Dawgs.
