The SEC Network’s Peter Burns think there’s a new top dawg in the conference residing in Athens. Burns believes Georgia has replaced Alabama as the class of the conference.

The ESPN personality thinks this current run of Georgia dominance is the precursor to a potential dynasty.

“We need to look at Georgia football the same way that we’ve looked at Alabama football from the years 2011 to 2021,” Burns said.

Burns is confident that the best is yet to come for a Georgia squad currently at 9-0 and No. 1 in the CFP rankings.

“This is the bare minimum for Georgia football,” Burns said. “Georgia football has replaced what Alabama football was the SEC. I don’t think that is a huge jump.”

This comes on the heels of former Georgia legend Aaron Murray predicting the Bulldogs will 3-peat as national champions.

Georgia hasn’t given up more than 22 points in any SEC contest this season. Georgia has allowed 13 points or less 6 times this season and it has also racked up 2 shutouts (Samford, Vanderbilt).

Georgia will strive to make it 10-0 when the Bulldogs travel to take on Mississippi State on Saturday (7 p.m. ET/ESPN). Georgia holds the advantage 19-6 in the all-time series vs. Mississippi State. Georgia has wins in the last 3 matchups.
