College GameDay host Rece Davis thinks Georgia is approaching Alabama’s ability to be able to replace talent with efficient counterparts year after year.

Is Georgia really nearing that? Davis broke down his thought process as to why on Wednesday.

“Georgia is approaching a situation, maybe not to the level of Alabama’s ability to roll in the next guy, but they’re right on the doorstep of it if they aren’t there,” Davis said. “Maybe there are there. I just don’t think there will be a tremendous dropoff on their defense despite having all of those guys drafted last year.”

The Bulldogs will be able to test Davis’ theory on Saturday against the Oregon Ducks. Georgia had one of the best defenses in the nation last season, but lost a large amount of their talent to the NFL. If the Bulldogs can be truly dominant on defense again, we could be nearing that conversation.
