Alabama and Georgia are anxiously awaiting the final decision from a top defender in the 2018 class.

Adam Anderson, the second ranked OLB in the nation according to 247 Sports, is set to announce his commitment this week. Anderson is from Rome, Georgia and would be a big addition for any defense he joins. He is ranked the eighth best player from the state of Georgia for 2018.

Anderson’s decision will come down to Alabama and Georgia.

Jake Rowe with 247 Sports reported Anderson’s decision will come on Thursday:

Dawgs247 confirmed Monday afternoon that Rome outside linebacker Adam Anderson will commit to the school of his choice on Thursday, October 19. He will decide between Georgia and Alabama.

Keeping a recruit of Anderson’s potential inside the state of Georgia would be another big win for Kirby Smart and his staff. The Bulldogs are continuing to climb the recruiting ranks after getting a commitment from QB Justin Fields and are making a push for OL Jamaree Salyer.

Still, Alabama is not giving up just yet. The Crimson Tide are No. 1 in the nation and are consistently at the top of the recruiting ranks under Nick Saban. There is still a chance that Anderson could head to Tuscaloosa and play for the Tide.

Both teams are still putting together strong seasons on the field, but it is also clear that Smart and Saban are determined to build for the future.
