Report: Former Georgia star released by Kansas City Chiefs
With the NFL free agency period set to begin this week, teams are manipulating their rosters to put themselves in the best position for the 2019 season.
On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly decided to part ways with a talented linebacker who has been to four Pro Bowls.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are releasing former Georgia star Justin Houston, who will now be a free agent:
Chiefs are releasing four-time Pro-Bowl LB Justin Houston, per source. They had tried to trade him, but no one willing to pick up the $15.25 million base salary that was due this season. Houston now a free agent.

Houston still has stuff left in the tank, appearing in 27 games the past two years and recording 18.5 sacks. For his career, he has 78.5 sacks.
Yes, that salary is a beast, but it’s likely that the ex-Bulldog will find a new NFL home before the start of training camp this summer.
