Report: Natrez Patrick will be eligible to play for Georgia in Rose Bowl
It is being reported that Natrez Patrick will be eligible to play in the Rose Bowl after marijuana charges against him were dropped Thursday.
The Georgia LB was arrested on a marijuana charge following the SEC Championship earlier this month. Teammate and Georgia WR Jayson Stanley was also arrested on charges of DUI that night. It was the third drug-related arrest for Patrick.
It was then reported Thursday morning that the marijuana charges against Patrick were dropped. The marijuana that was recovered from that night was in the seat that Patrick was sitting in, but he claimed he did not know it was there.
The significance of the charges being dismissed is that a third drug-related arrest for Patrick would likely lead to him being kicked off the team. Now that the charges are dropped, Radi Nabulsi with UGASports is reporting that this would not constitute a violation of the UGA Student Athlete Handbook. This means Patrick would be eligible to play in the Rose Bowl.

Breaking News on #AtoZ @RadiNabulsi tells @MarkZinno that according to his information that Natrez Patrick's arrest will NOT count as a violation of the UGA Student Athlete Handbook and he WILL play in the Rose Bowl Game due to the amended policy in Sept 2017.
