The Georgia Bulldogs signed the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in 2018, but due to the team’s current scholarship count, all the signees couldn’t be accommodated on the roster.

Therefore, according to a report from 247Sports, one of the 2018 signees will likely delay his enrollment and enroll as part of the 2019 class.

Per the report, which you can read here, 3-star DL Tramel Walthour — the Dawgs’ lowest-rated non-punter in the 2018 class, per the 247Sports composite — will potentially enroll in January with some of the 2019 early enrollees.

Though moves like this are sometimes referred to as taking a gray shirt, he’ll simply enroll at Georgia in the winter 2019 semester instead of the fall 2018 semester. That means his college career will be delayed by a year, but he’ll still have four years of eligibility (and a possible redshirt year) remaining.

It’s definitely a change for Walthour, but it sounds like he’ll stick with the program and embark on his career in Athens starting this coming winter.
