After closing with the No. 1 recruiting class of 2020, Georgia is shifting focus to the 2021 recruiting cycle and adding to the Bulldog staff.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Katie Turner has joined UGA’s recruiting staff. Turner herself retweeted UGA Wire’s report about the hire and some of the people congratulating her.

Turner was hired away from Louisiana-Lafayette. She was the Ragin-Cajuns’ Director of On-Campus Recruiting. A statement on Turner’s departure from Louisiana head coach Billy Napier was shared by the team’s official Twitter account:

“We are so excited for Katie. She is a rising star in the profession who worked tirelessly and took pride in her role in our recruiting operation. She helped lay a great foundation for the future, and we are very thankful for her contributions. She impacted the #culture in our building every day! We wish her the very best going forward.”

Per FootballScoop, Turner will work in a “senior recruiting role” at UGA. Her prior experience includes working for Alabama and the Buffalo Bills.

Georgia has not yet announced a title for Turner. Director of Player Personnel Marshall Malchow recently left to join Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M staff.
