Stetson Bennett received some criticism this week for his demeanor during Georgia’s National Championship parade.

Bennett was spotted on his phone throughout the parade, drawing complaints from fans and media alike. Amongst those to call Bennett out was Steak Shapiro, a host on 92.9 The Game in Atlanta.

On Tuesday evening, Bennett, 25, sent out this tweet in response to Shapiro:

He followed it up with an “article” explaining why he was on his phone. Bennett said he was controlling the music in the parade car. Bennett also apologized to fans who felt “unappreciated” during the parade:

Bennett is moving on from Georgia after leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back National Championships. He spearheaded the first back-to-back national title run in program history.

In this year’s National Championship Game against TCU, Bennett threw for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. Across all 4 CFP games over the past 2 seasons, Bennett threw for 12 touchdowns and just 1 interception. He cleared 300+ passing yards in 3 of those 4 contests.
